Mr Nolan Jager LoydeTMC Chair
Nolan Jager Loyde is in his third year as Head Band Director at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas. Mr. Loyde received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Entering his ninth year of secondary music education, Mr. Loyde previously served as Assistant Band Director to Diane Vasquez at Westfield High School in Houston, Texas. While at Westfield High School, ensembles under his direction earned consistent superior ratings at various festivals and in University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight Reading contests. Complimentary to these achievements, the marching band program at Westfield High School was consistent in it’s success in various marching invitationals and University Interscholastic League Competitions. Professionally, Mr. Loyde was selected as the campus Rookie Teacher of the Year at Westfield High School in 2010 and served as a clinician at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in 2012. Mr. Loyde has been an active performer and educator across Texas for 12 years where he has received various honors and the opportunity to perform alongside great musicians in many ensembles including the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and Lonestar Wind Orchestra, both under the direction of Eugene M. Corporon. Mr. Loyde is originally from Houston, Texas, where he attended Westfield High School. As a bassoon player in the “Big Red Band”, under the direction of Philip Geiger, Mr. Loyde had the opportunity to perform at The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, Texas Music Educator’s Association Conference as the Honor Band, Bands of America Grand National Championships, and the All-State Band and Orchestra.
