2018 Texas Marching Classic

Plan NOW for the Texas Marching Classic Competition!


October 2018 will mark the seventh annual Texas Marching Classic (TMC) band competition. Come participate with bands from across the state in UIL classes 1A-6A. Supported by the Cedar Ridge High School Raider Band, TMC is organized by educators with vast experience as contest participants as well as hosts – resulting in a competition that is unlike any other. The nationally renowned judging staff have experience as Bands of America (BOA), Drum Core International (DCI) adjudicators with a wealth of experience and knowledge that make TMC one of the competitions you won't want to miss.


Divided into three classifications (1A-4A, 5A, 6A), bands will compete to win the title of Grand Champion. Bands will also compete in the captions of Individual & Ensemble Music, Individual & Ensemble Visual, General Effect, Percussion and Auxiliary. TMC offers state of the art facilitiesworld class adjudicators, and a unique scoring rubric to provide timely feedback with insight into all aspects of your performance.


Registration will open in early 2018.  Don't miss your opportunity to gain insight from some of the best adjudicators in their field. TMC will be a great addition to any band program's fall 2018 competition schedule. Plan now to participate in what has been referred to as “one of the best marching competitions” in Texas!

TMC is proud to announce the participation of the UT Arlington Maverick Marching Band under the direction of Dr Chris Evans at this year’s competition. UT Arlington will perform in exhibition at the conclusion of the Preliminaries competition.

UT Arlington is a major NCAA Division I research university located in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan Area. The UT Arlington Department of Music is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) with a world-renowned faculty and offers performance opportunities for both majors and non-majors alike, with a full complement of Band, Choral, Jazz, and Orchestral ensembles. The DFW area offers many cultural opportunities for students including numerous symphonies, Fort Worth Jazz Orchestra, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, and excellent theaters. Arlington is also home to a myriad of entertainment options, such as Six Flags over Texas, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, Hurricane Harbor Water Park, and more.
