Mr Nolan Jager LoydeTMC Chair
Nolan Jager Loyde is the Head Band Director at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas. Mr. Loyde received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University.
Mr. Nolan Loyde received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. Mr. Loyde is entering his ninth year of secondary music education, and his third year as the Director of Bands for Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock ISD.
Throughout his educational career, bands under Mr. Loyde’s direction have received consistent superior ratings at University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight Reading Evaluations. Complimentary to these achievements, the marching band programs under his direction have been consistently successful in various marching invitationals and University Interscholastic League Competitions. Since arriving at Cedar Ridge High School, the band has maintained it’s status as a nationally recognized performing ensemble by placing in finals of Bands of America Marching Competitions, qualifying for Area in the Texas Honor Band process, and most recently placing 13th in the UIL Texas State Marching Contest.
Mr. Loyde was selected as the campus Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2010, has served as a clinician at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in 2012, and currently chairs the Texas Marching Classic Marching Competition. Mr. Loyde has been an active performer and educator across Texas for over 10 years where he has received various honors and the opportunity to perform alongside great musicians in many ensembles including the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and Lonestar Wind Orchestra. Mr. Loyde continues his professional impact by serving as a frequent adjudicator and clinician at the state and national level.
Mr. Loyde is originally from Houston, Texas, where he attended Westfield High School. As a bassoon player in high school, Mr. Loyde had the opportunity to perform at The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, Texas Music Educator’s Association Conference as a member of the Texas State Honor Band, Bands of America Grand National Championships, and was a member of the Texas All-State Band and Orchestra.
